Project Manager, Lab for Journalism Funding

Nina Joss is the Project Manager for the Lab for Journalism Funding, where she supports local newsrooms in developing skills to garner philanthropic support.
Prior to working at the Local Media Association, Nina worked as a local journalist in Colorado, where she reported on housing, business, government and a wide array of other topics. From former roles, she also has experience in podcast marketing, freelance writing, photography and wine pairing. From her work as a reporter and through fellowships with the Poynter Institute and the National Press Foundation, Nina developed a passion for supporting the sustainability of the local news industry. She believes in the power of storytelling to bring people together, and she is dedicated to supporting local news.
Nina graduated from the University of Richmond with a degree in Leadership Studies and a minor in Visual Arts. She lives in Colorado and enjoys cooking, yoga, running, traveling and water skiing.
