How has COVID-19 impacted your business? Changed how you work with the local media industry?

We saw a tremendous impact on the small businesses that we work with nationwide and have assisted in building new online business offering and strengthening their digital presence. Over the past two years dealing with COVID-19, we have helped numerous businesses grow and reinvent themselves, while adapting to the changing face of digital marketing and social media. As a result, we realized that local media companies needed added sales training and skills. We decided to launch a free, two-day media challenge catering to media and agency sales professionals on April 11 and 12. What trends are you seeing across all the companies you work with, and how are you helping or impacting those?

It’s increasingly important that businesses have a strong presence online; consumer behavior has been forever changed by the pandemic, and businesses need to adapt. According to Statista, worldwide e-commerce sales grew to an estimated $4.9 trillion in 2021, up from $3.3 trillion in 2019. By 2025, Statista estimates global e-commerce sales will reach $7 trillion. That’s crazy! If businesses want a piece of those sales in 2025, they need to nurture their digital footprint now.

Business today is based on strategic partnerships, and to be successful, businesses must use multiple tactics. It’s not enough to post to Facebook once a week or send an obligatory email newsletter once a month. Social media, paid advertising, and SEO all need to work together for a digital marketing strategy to work.

This concept drives the creation and evolution of all the services Dream Local provides for its clients and partners. We recently revamped our SEO packages to fully supplement paid advertising campaigns. We realized that paid ad campaigns draw the attention of business owners and media sales professionals. Ads are easy to understand. You pay X and you will get Y, but ads only make up 49% of a product’s visibility online. Organic SEO is 5.66 times better at increasing search engine rankings and can provide a higher ROI. So, paid ads don’t work as well solo as they could when paired with SEO and social services.

What’s new at Dream Local Digital that your long-standing customers might not know is going on? What do you have planned in the next six months?

Dream Local has an exciting year coming up in 2022! In addition to innovating and updating our SEO services to drive results, we are expanding our paid ad services and will be giving new tools to our partners to develop strategies for their clients. We have also added a new service for select clients to build lists, drive leads, and increase sales through lead and sales funnels. The Skills Builder Marketing Coach Program continues to evolve and support business owners and managers who want to do more marketing themselves.

And, of course, we are so excited to launch our Digital Media Sweet Spot challenge in April. It’s a two-day training course designed to give media and agency sales professionals the knowledge, tools, and confidence to look at a prospect, ask them a series of questions and diagnose exactly what bundle of services that client would need to be successful. With that knowledge and skill, we will then show them how to tie it all together in a proposal that tells a story and converts.
