New LMIA report released

In the ever-evolving Connected TV landscape, revenue opportunities continue to shift, offering both challenges and promising avenues for growth. As streaming becomes an essential part of media consumption, local media sales executives examine how CTV can serve advertisers aiming to reach audiences outside of traditional linear TV. With new players entering the space and increasing demand for targeted solutions, the industry navigates a complex mix of opportunities and hurdles.
LMA reached out to executives in our broadcast member companies with questions about the CTV and streaming space, and provided them in a report for Local Media Innovation Alliance members. In the responses in this report, these executives share their perspectives on how the past year has impacted the CTV content and revenue landscape and what trends they anticipate for the future.
Local media companies are exploring diverse strategies to drive success in the fast-changing CTV and streaming environment. From capitalizing on owned-and-operated (O&O) inventory to tapping into programmatic opportunities and expanding reach on various platforms, these avenues are proving effective in meeting audience demands and maximizing revenue.
In this excerpt from the report, executives share the approaches that have worked best for their companies in the CTV space and the impact these strategies have had on their growth:
- O&O and programmatic opportunities with Simpli.fi.
- We’ve launched our brands on TV [original-equipment manufacturer, or OEM] apps and Free Ad-Supported Television (FAST) platforms with the belief that we cannot control where our viewers will access our content; therefore, we must follow the consumer and be available on all platforms. FAST has seen the most significant growth over the past year.
- Reach extension for local advertisers.
- We have had some success with alternate ad positions similar to squeeze-backs over content.

Connected TV ad operations for CTV publishers. We assist publishers in proper monetization tactics against their O&O. This allows publishers to increase their very own revenue by selling their owned and operated inventory programmatically and directly — allowing for more publishers to grow revenue substantially.
