Deeply experienced in assisting historically important but challenged organizations revivify, Siobhan “Sam” Bennett, President/Chief Revenue Officer of The New York Amsterdam News and CEO/President of Amsterdam News Educational Foundation has leveraged her decades as a non-profit, civic and business leader to assist one of America’s most influential continuously published Black newspaper to digitally transform, maximize revenue and honor its over 116 years of racial equity journalism culminating in Publisher Elinor R. Tatum being awarded E&P’s 2024 Publisher of the Year, the first time in the 125 years of this award a Black woman has been so honored Passionate to the cause of women’s advancement and civil rights, she is known for her unwavering success in solving seemingly intractable problems. The most recent of her numerous awards include “2025 LMA Digital Innovator of the Year” and being selected for the prestigious Media Transformation Challenge Class of 2025.

A nationally top performing advertising sales manager and account executive for the top performing sales unit among Bell Atlantic Yellow Page divisions – Bennett pivoted to non-profit and political leadership. Her nationally renowned initiative Name It. Change It. fighting political sexism against women – was born out of Bennett’s 2008 run for U.S. Congress where she was one of the most endorsed challengers in the nation. Following, she served as the second longest serving CEO of the first national organization to financially support women when they run for office, Washington D.C.’s bi-partisan Women’s Campaign Fund and She Should Run. Prior to Amsterdam News, Bennett was honored to serve as Chief Strategic Officer and Senior Vice-President of Legal Momentum, the nation’s first and foremost advocate of women’s and girl’s legal rights, founding and ongoing champions of the culturally transformative “Violence Against Women Act” and “Title IX”.

Consistent is Bennett’s success in raising funds and awareness for causes she believes in coupled with strategic, data informed approaches that stand the test of time. The co-founder of The Freedom Memorial, the only in the world commemorating both Martin Luther and Coretta Scott King – Bennett strives to “be the change you want to see in the world.
